The samfu and the iconic red headdress of the Samsui women have been re-imagined to give an urban update as a casual jumpsuit and a handbag respectively. These general labourers of yesteryear; now envisioned and evolved to white collar workers and elevated today as acclaimed architects and successful women in the building and construction industry for the modern cities.
Back in those days besides sheltering the women from the sun, the red hat was also used to store items such as cigarettes, matches and money. On that note, the trademark red hat is now transformed into The Samsui Handbag, a handbag made out of eco-friendly and sustainable silicone leather that is suitable for the environmentally conscious multifaceted women of today.
